Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common overuse condition that causes pain in the underside of the foot and heel, and can happen in people with flat feet AND those with high arches.

But here’s the interesting thing about plantar fasciitis. Sometimes, there isn’t actually any inflammation at all – and instead we find a breakdown of the plantar fascia behind the pain.

So sometimes, you’ll find we diagnose ‘plantar fasciopathy’ – a blanket term that covers both the inflammation and non-inflammation version of this condition.

While treatment varies depending on which type is causing your heel pain, and where along the plantar fascia your pain is, biomechanics and gait analysis can help us figure out why you may be experiencing it and how we can stop it from being an issue for you in the future.

As for how we can get rid of the pain…we’ve got a variety of solutions for any type of heel and arch pain at Orthotique, and as usual once we know what’s happening with your feet, we’ll guide you trough the most appropriate option.

Oh, and if you need orthotics, we’ll sort that out for you too!
